Why Consistency Matters More Than Talent in Creative Work

For the longest time, I believed that talent was the ultimate key to success in any creative endeavor. I thought that if someone was naturally gifted, doors would magically open for them, recognition would come easily, and success would follow without much effort.  I admired people who seemed to “just have it” the writers who wrote beautifully without struggle, the artists whose work felt effortless, the creators who appeared confident from day one. I told myself that once I became “good enough,” everything would fall into place. But the truth I’ve discovered over time is both simple and deeply humbling: talent alone is rarely enough.
